Durga Puja which is also known as Navratri is being celebrated all over India. Durga is the goddess of divine power against all the evils. Every city in the country celebrates Durga Puja and it is largely celebrated in Bengal, as it is the festive season for them.

Durga Puja in Hyderabad also celebrated in full spirit, with all the community come together to celebrate this festival with full happiness. The festival last for nine days and the tenth day is called as Dussehra. Most of the community in Hyderabad come together to celebrate this festival and construct big pandals in which people can visit and worship goddess Durga.

On the last day of celebration, people thronged to have tearful send off for the goddess. But most of the community postpones the sendoff so to enjoy the festive as long as it is possible but not more than 10 days. At the end of the day, in some pandals people come to get the enjoyment of ballet dance.

All the markets in Hyderabad get jammed during Durga Puja as many people visit markets to buy sweets, especially Bengali sweets which are largely sold during this festive time. Markets in Hyderabad get fully crowded. Many pandals in Hyderabad are constructed very magnificently with big idols of goddess Durga. People of Hyderabad visit this pandals to get the blessings of the goddess Durga. 

Although, this festival is largely celebrated in Bengal, but Hyderabad do is not lagging behind. Durga Puja in Hyderabad is celebrated with great enthusiasm as the people of Hyderabad come together to celebrate this festival. There are many NGOs and other organization which conducts these festival and some of the Bengali organization also conduct Durga Puja.
