Durga Puja one of the auspicious festival in Bengal is also celebrated in all parts of the world. The reason is the migration of the Indian people in most of the country and taking the Indian culture and festival all over the world and one such is the Durga Puja which is also celebrated in Germany.

Indian community in Germany has taken the step further by celebrating Durga Puja in Germany and Berlin the capital of the country is seeing enjoying this Durgoutsav since 1975, as the Hindu Bengali community come together to celebrate this occasion.

In the initial time due to lack of Indian Bengali community the venue of the occasion used to change. In the early eighties the venue was shifted to Indian Club Bharat Majlis and then in 1990, they moved to the auspicious haven at the club of International Students Hostel along with some Bengali students and since then it has become the fix venue of the Berlin Durgoutsav.

In Berlin, Durgoutsav is being celebrated for five days and people truly enjoy this festival. Bengali community imports the Bengali sweet to from Bengal and distribute to the people of Berlin when people come and visit the Pandal.
Along with Puja, people also organize some extra cultural activity is like Indian dance and Bengali dance along with some stage show. There is also Bijayadashami activity which draws many people.

People of Germany truly love this occasion as it is the time when they can enjoy and get to know about the Indian culture. Even the Durga Puja is celebrated in the Berlin, but still the serving is only in Veg foods.
 Devotees in Germany enjoy the best time while celebrating Durga Puja and involve in getting the blessings of Goddess Durga.
